What a wonderful means of communtication this tool has been for our customers to keep track of what is going on in the wonderful world of dry beans! We will strive to keep this site updated on our "Crop Progress" page with the latest information on production & markets of dry beans.

Since harvest began in August 2011, pinto bean markets have been steady. 2011 the dry bean area was the smallest since 1921. Interest from Mexico and lack of producer selling coupled with competition from other commodities are holding our current pricing.

Harvest is complete here in Colorado. We had average to slightly above average yields and very good quality in most of our growing regions. We were fortunate to maintain good weather thoughout most of our growing season.

If you would like to keep track of precipitation amounts in the state of Colorado, the CoAgMet web site has daily summaries of high and low temp, wind, rainfall amounts and etc. that may be of interest to you. Thanks to the folks at Colorado State University for putting this site together and keeping it updated.
